Elk Point, SD - Skyler Eriksen, Principal of the Elk Point-Jefferson Middle/High School, has been named SEAPs Principal of the Year. Mr. Eriksen, in his sixth year at EPJ, has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to student success and fostering a positive school environment.

"I am extremely honored to receive this award as there are so many principals in our region that deserve recognition," said Eriksen. "This award is a testament to the staff at EPJ and their daily efforts to ensure student success. I am thankful I get the opportunity to be part of the great team we have at EPJ School District."

Bill Leberman, President of the Southeast Area Principals Association (SEAP), announced the award, stating, "Skyler Eriksen has been selected by his peers as 2024-25 Southeast Area High School Principal of the Year! Mr. Eriksen continues to lead his school and be an active member in our association as we strive to provide top-notch public education in our great state! Skyler always keeps his students and staff at the forefront of his decision making on a day-to-day basis. Congratulations Skyler Eriksen!"

Mr. Eriksen's leadership has been instrumental in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students at Elk Point-Jefferson. He truly embodies what it means to be a Husky, and models how to show pride and take action in everything he does.
